Together we can stop the Chop!
Once again, urban trees are being felled where they are most needed - along a busy road. Unfortunately such trees have no protection and it is only through the vigilance of local people that some are saved. We are losing our urban canopy at just the time that we need it most.
Readers might be interested in our Bristol-based campaign with an active web site www.bristolstreettrees.org which has links to an article I wrote on the BBC web site as part of the Green Room series. Clearly the issue is of international concern as the article received 10,000 words of comment within 36 hours and the moderator had to call a halt to further comment.
