A report commissioned by the London Assembly said that only 1% of tree removals was justified. As we watch the continuing removal of our trees in Bristol, we wonder what the proportion might be here.

The valuation of the 6ft-wide tree, which has graced Berkeley Square since Victorian times, is based on a new system devised by local authority tree officers.
