BRISTOL STREET TREES
2008
Bristol City Council Councillors Walker and Bradshaw have written to the Evening Post. Click here to read their ‘Soapbox’ article (opens in new window).

We’ve posted the following comment on the Evening Post website:
We will respond to Councillors Walker and Bradshaw in detail on www.BristolStreetTrees.org and elsewhere. We felt it was unfortunate that Councillor Walker didn’t reply to our letter of 8th January 2008 and didn’t stay to hear our presentation at the Bristol Parks Forum last August on street trees, so many of the same misconceptions appear in the letter to the Evening Post. It is apparent that they are not aware of the crisis facing Bristol’s Street Trees and the loss of Bristol's urban tree canopy.
In the meantime, those who wish to see their street tree stumps replaced and empty tree pits filled should send the locations and photographs to Quercus (at) bristolstreettrees.org We will be happy to forward them on to Councillors Walker and Bradshaw.
